The Punho de Torniquete Pneumático is an inflatable compression cuff designed for use with pneumatic tourniquet systems in surgical and orthopedic procedures. When inflated to a precise pressure above the patient's systolic blood pressure, it temporarily occludes arterial blood flow to the distal limb, creating a bloodless surgical field. The cuff features a durable bladder, hook-and-loop closure, and pneumatic port for connection to the tourniquet instrument.

Modo de Uso

  1. Select the appropriate cuff size based on the patient's limb circumference — the cuff width should be approximately 20% greater than the limb diameter.
  2. Apply soft padding (e.g., Webril or cotton cast padding) around the limb to protect the skin and nerves.
  3. Place the cuff over the padding, proximal to the surgical site, ensuring it lies flat without wrinkles. Secure with the hook-and-loop closure.
  4. Connect the pneumatic tubing to the tourniquet console and perform a leak test.
  5. Elevate and exsanguinate the limb (using an Esmarch bandage or elevation method) before inflation.
  6. Inflate the cuff to the calculated pressure (typically systolic BP + 50–75 mmHg for upper limb, + 100 mmHg for lower limb). Record the inflation time.
  7. Monitor cuff pressure and ischemia time throughout the procedure. Alert the surgical team at 60, 90, and 120 minutes.
  8. Upon completion, deflate the cuff gradually and remove. Assess limb perfusion, sensation, and motor function.
